Greyfriars has nine single rooms, each of which has its own wash basin and call bell system, and each room is individually decorated.
Six of which already meet the new recommended sizes.
We have found that our residents have expressed being comfortablein their rooms.
Upstairs has 2 toilets and 1 bathroom, with 1 bathroom and 1 toilet downstairs.
There is a comfortable lounge with adjoining dining room. A starlight is available for residents use.
The home is managed by co-owner, Ann Cable, registered general nurse, with 19 years distric nursing experience and an NB certificate in elderley care.
Her staff are made up by carers, most of whom have been with the home for more than 5 years.
All staff are required to have training in fire drills, manual handling, and food hygiene.
Greyfriars is commited to continued staff training through attendance on special courseseg. dementia, Parkinson's, to gain an insight into relevant issues.
All meals are home cooked and aim to meet all specialist dietary needs.
We operate an open house policy whereby a residents family and friends are made most welcome. Tea, coffee and biscuits are always available to them.
